Foodland supports Adelaide United’s school program

Foodland’s On The Ball program has partnered with football club Adelaide United’s United in Schools Program, a five-week initiative for Year 5 and 6 students.

The program will be delivered to 20 South Australian government schools per year over the next three years, thanks to funding from the Department of Education. Throughout the five weeks, the program will teach students the importance of teamwork, resilience, and positive self-image, both on and off the field.

Adelaide United A-League Women’s players, along with Head Coach, Adrian Stenta, will actively participate in classroom sessions, with A-League Men’s players also involved throughout the program.

“The United in Schools program is poised to make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of students across South Australia by combining the passion for football with essential health education,” says Adelaide United CEO Nathan Kosmina.

“It’s also a fantastic opportunity for our players to give back to the community and be a positive role model for young South Australians.”

Foodland’s On The Ball Program will be featured throughout the delivery, and all participants will receive a Foodland tote bag filled with healthy snacks.

“At Foodland, we are big believers in investing time and resources into the next generation. We continue to invest in community sports clubs and youth programs that keep our kids active and healthy as well as learning about important topics such as food waste and sustainability,” says Foodland Supermarkets CEO Franklin dos Santos.

“We are incredibly proud to support this initiative which focuses on fostering healthy lifestyles fuelled by nutritious food and fresh, locally sourced produce.”

The United in Schools program commenced at the start of Term 4 last year at three South Australian Schools and will be rolled out in up to 20 more in 2025.
