Woolworths Group and Google Cloud have announced a new five-year strategic agreement aimed at further enabling the power of data and insights for the retailer.
This renewed partnership follows on from Google Cloud being announced as Partner of the Year at the annual Woolworths Group Technology and Business Enablement Awards event.
John Hunt, Woolworths Group Chief Information Officer and Managing Director of Group Enablement, says the retailer is fortunate to enjoy rich partnerships in the technology arena.
“One of these is Google Cloud and we’re pleased to continue our strong partnership,” he says.
“Google Cloud is widely acknowledged for their strategic contributions across all our business areas. Their deep collaboration, initially in setting up our Woolworths data platform, has been instrumental in accelerating data visualisation and analytics to transform our workflows and unlock the full potential of our data.
“We’ve partnered with Google Cloud since 2017 and it fostered a culture of experimentation and innovation within our teams, empowering them to explore new ways of working and unlocking creative solutions and value. Early access to cutting-edge technologies ensures Woolworths remains at the forefront of retail innovation.”
Paul Migliorini, Vice President of Google Cloud Australia & New Zealand, says the company is thrilled to deepen its strategic agreement with Woolworths.
“Our goal remains to help Woolworths further leverage Google Cloud’s data analytics and advanced technology capabilities to drive innovation across their business,” he says.
