Ampol and Woolworths rebrand convenience stores

Ampol and Woolworths Metro have unveiled their first rebranded MetroGo store in Wamberal, NSW.

Featuring a range tailored for the local area, the rebranded stores offer customers a top up on their groceries. The stores also offer “fresh, quality” food that locals can eat now, on the go, or grab for later.

In addition, customers will benefit from the ability to earn points through Woolworths’ Everyday Rewards.

MetroGo Wamberal, located at 656 The Entrance Rd, offers more than 1400 products across the store. These include more than 300 Woolworths Own brand products (40 of which are Macro branded).

The store also offers:

  • Fresh fruit and vegetables, including chilled pre-cut veggies
  • Fresh meat, including chicken breasts and tenderloins, sausages, burgers and mince
  • Hot food, such as chicken chips, pies and sausage rolls
  • Essential grocery items for customers to do top-up shops
  • An array of sandwiches, salads, ready meals, pasta and pizza
  • “Great tasting” Foodary coffee
  • Access to the Ampol App to pay for fuel via a mobile phone and redeem special offers
  • Self-serve checkouts
  • Access to earn Woolworths Rewards points and 4¢ off a litre redemption offer
  • Access to Ampol’s range of Amplify premium fuels

A growing partnership

Since the partnership launched in 2019, Ampol and Woolworths Metro have rolled out 31 stores across NSW and Victoria. There are 19 new locations planned for 2022. The brand transition to MetroGo for existing stores will be completed over the coming months.

Woolworths General Manager of Metro Partnerships Michelle White says MetroGo is dedicated to providing ultra-convenience to our customers.

“MetroGo, developed in partnership with Ampol, is an evolution of the established Woolworths Metro brand that is specifically formulated to support the unique customer missions within the convenience and petrol retail environments.

Ampol Chief Brand Officer Jenny O’Regan says this is an exciting new step in the company’s strategy to deliver convenient solutions for its customers who are on the go.

“Available exclusively at Ampol locations, MetroGo acknowledges the unique needs of customers who shop with us,” she says.

“Whether customers are looking for quality coffee and brekkie on the go, a variety of tasty and nutritious lunch options or key ingredients for tonight’s dinner, they can find it at Ampol Woolworths MetroGo.
