Pact Group wins best Dairy Packaging Innovation Award

Pact Group has been awarded the 2015 World Dairy Innovation Award for the Murray Goulburn Flip Top Cream Cap (also known as the Easy Pour and Seal Lid) in the Best Dairy Packaging Innovation category at the 2015 Global Dairy Innovation Awards.

FoodBev Media administers the World Dairy Innovation Awards held annually at the Global Dairy Congress. The awards, presented late June in Amsterdam, celebrate excellence and innovation across every category of the global dairy industry. This year, the awards received more than 200 nominations from more than 30 countries.

Upon receiving the award, Pact Group General Manager Greg Beilby said they were thrilled to be recognised in the Global Dairy Innovation Awards as a leader within the packaging industry.

“We are delighted to win this category this year, having been placed as a finalist last year with our Light Proof bottle,” he said.

The Easy Pour and Seal Lid hinged cream cap was developed by Pact Group over a 12-month period and is claimed to be one of the first packaging innovations in the cream category to be recognised for many years.

The cap has been designed to enhance the consumer experience of opening, pouring and resealing cream containers in a more easy-to-use and hygienic manner. It also eliminates the tear strip commonly used on other cream containers, which can be difficult to open and problematic when pouring. Murray Goulburn was first to adopt the technology, launching it under its Devondale brand.

This recent award adds to Pact Group’s trophy cabinet, having been listed by BRW as one of Australia’s most innovative companies for the past two years and winning a World Star award for their Light Proof milk bottle earlier this year.
