                 WHAT’S NEW  TEA TIME AGAIN FOR GROCER AFTER 33 YEARS Arthur Brunt Quality Grocer has returned to the tea/ beverages category with Loyd Cold Teas. Said to be “quick and easy”, the new product can serve as a “refreshing” glass of cold tea or flavoured water in a bottle for a drink on the go. The teas are claimed to contain no added sugars and less than one calorie per serve. “We’re thrilled to be back in the tea business after an absence of 33 years,” Arthur Brunt Quality Grocer Director Craig Brunt said. “This summer’s launch of three cold teas – Strawberry & Raspberry, Lemon, Lime & Mint, and Apple & Pineapple – is an extremely exciting offering for our independent supermarkets and brings premium fruit flavoured water to their customers.” Loyd Cold Teas will be available next month, retailing for $5.50.     PREMIUM ICE CREAM A TIPPED SUMMER HIT Bulla Dairy Foods Head of Marketing Andrew Noisette says that since its launch nine months ago, Bulla’s new Murray St range of premium ice creams have provided more growth than any other ice cream brand across IGA and Coles (Nielsen Scan MAT September 2020). Bulla promotes its “award-winning” ice cream that has been made at its factory on Murray Street in Colac, Victoria for more than 90 years using fresh local ingredients and six generations of craft and dairy know-how. The new Murray Street Blackberry Swirl sticks and tubs are expected to drive even more growth this summer with the range now also available in Woolworths nationally.       MONKFRUIT FOR A NATURALLY SWEET HABIT Made from monk fruit, which derives its sweetness from antioxidants in the fruit’s flesh, Lakanto’s Monkfruit Sweeteners are claimed to have 93 per cent fewer calories than sugar, zero net carbs, zero glycemic impact and no fibre, maltodextrin, stevia, artificial sweeteners or flavourings. The range consists of Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener, made from the white flesh of monk fruit to replace white sugar, and the Golden Monkfruit Sweetener with a sweet maple flavour, made from the white flesh, seed and peel, as a substitute for raw cane sugar. Lakanto’s Monkfruit Sweeteners are available in 200g (RRP $10.50), 500g (RRP $19.95) and 800g (RRP $29.95) bags from Woolworths, Coles, Drakes, Ritchies IGA and select health food stores.      DOCTOR V OFFERS ‘HEALTHY’ ENERGY DRINK Doctor V is said to be disrupting the global energy drink category with a “healthy” alternative made with herbs used by Russians to boost energy, stamina, and immunity. The range includes Brain Storm for “faster and clearer thinking”, Siberian Rush for pre-workout, Bender Mender for “faster recovery”, and Karma Karma for a “gentle energy lift and mood support”. All variants are said to be free from artificial colours, flavours, perseverative and synthetic herbs.
