DELI & SMALLGOODS EXPAND Bacon ready to serve in 30 seconds Australians love bacon, but according to Primo, one of the biggest barriers to further consumption is that the product is messy and time consuming to prepare. In response to this, the brand has developed a new product that overcomes both these barriers, Primo Microwave Bacon. The product, says Primo, tastes as good as pan fried bacon and is ready to serve in 30 seconds. Microwave Bacon is available in single serve and multipack formats. Convenience with mini meat snacks Don’s Minis Kabana and Chorizo range can be enjoyed on the go or as a “perfect addition to an entertaining platter”. Don offers the ready-to-eat meat snack in a resealable “convenient” 160g pouch (RRP $5). The range is available in the flavour variants of Kabana Original, Spicy Kabana, and Chorizo Mild. Kabana Original and Chorizo Mild are also available in a 1kg bulk pack for the deli counter. Don Minis can be found in Coles and selected independent stores. Kabana Spicy (160g), along with Kabana Original in pre-pack and bulk, are available in Woolworths. Pizza fresh out of oven in 10 minutes Bertocchi in collaboration with Della Rosa offers a variety of stone baked homestyle pizzas. According to Bertocchi, its Maestro and Casa Bertocchi products are “premium, restaurant quality” pizzas made in the “freshest possible way”. The stone baked pizza bases are topped with fresh, locally grown produce, and are said to be ready to eat after 10 minutes in the oven. Maestro and Casa Bertocchi pizzas are sold via major supermarkets, independent stores, and foodservice operators.
