The range is said to be “made with care” in small batches using rice, sun-ripened corn and “generations of Italian pasta making know-how”. It’s also claimed to be “completely” gluten free, vegan and is made locally in Melbourne. There are five varieties in the range, which the brand believes makes the “perfect fit” for any pasta dish. Jack Daniel’s BBQ Sauce, from Completely Fresh Foods, is made in California. “The authentic sauces are made with small-batch production, old time kettle-cooking and all- natural ingredients, meaning no preservatives,” the company said. “We follow the traditions of Mr Jack Daniel whose motto was ‘Every day we make it, we’ll make it the best we can”. Every bottle of Jack Daniel’s BBQ sauce is made with a touch of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey. PLANT-BASED CRISPY CREATIONS Enjoy the benefits of simple, plant-based food with Spliits, made with “great tasting” veggies and “easy to understand” ingredients. Spliits are said to be a “delicious”, easy meal or snack for any time of the day, and great to eat with a range of toppings or paired with your favourite dip. Spliits are also claimed to be 100 per cent gluten free, vegan and “proudly” Australian made and owned. ‘LOVINGLY CRAFTED’ NO-MEAT BALLS The new Fry’s No-Meat Balls are said to be made from non- GM ingredients and a blend of various plant proteins. “They are perfect in pasta, in kids’ lunchboxes or even as a healthy snack,” the brand said. “Our kids love them dipped in sweet chili sauce or hummus served with fresh veggies. “Lovingly crafted for your family from ours.” Fry’s No-Meat Balls (RRP $8.49) are available in frozen food sections at selected independent supermarkets. SAUSAGES WITHOUT THE MEAT AND CHOLESTEROL The new plant-based Big Fry Boerie is said to look, sizzle and taste just like its meaty counterpart and is just as juicy. The brand also says the product is “very high” in protein with a “whopping” 19g of plant protein per sausage, but “none of the cholesterol found in meat.” Like all Fry’s products, it is claimed to be non-GM, 100 per cent plant-based and low in saturated fat.
