EXPAND N A T U R A L & O R G A N I C A ‘facial’ goes into a bar IQ.N’s Skin Glow Marine Collagen Beauty and Healthy Glow Collagen Beauty bars are described as “your facial in a tasty bar” and as “skin healthy munching on the go”. According to the brand, these “naturally healthy smart snacks” contain 5g of collagen, said to be an “ideal dose” for supporting your body’s own collagen production, and are made from only natural, wholefood ingredients. The bars (RRP $4.95) are available in Blueberry, Rose & Pistachio, and Lemon & Fig flavours. Pea protein in mince condition Pea Protein Mince from the Fry Family Food Co is promoted as 100 per cent plant-based, made from non-GM ingredients and a blend of various plant proteins, as with other Fry’s products. The new mince is also free of soy, onion and garlic, and the first product from Fry’s to be made from pea protein. According to the company, the product is “versatile and delicious”, and great for tacos, burritos, and spaghetti bolognese. Pea Protein Mince (RRP $7.99) is ranged in the frozen foods aisle at selected independent supermarkets. Care for skin, animals and planet Butt Naked’s “worry free, cruelty free and vegan” skin care products are said to be formulated with 100 per cent natural ingredients and made by Aussie women with a purpose to not harm the environment or animals throughout its sourcing, creating, and manufacturing processes. Instead of using palm oil or a sustainable palm oil (there’s still no guarantee these are being sourced in an ethical way, says the company), Butt Naked opts to “mimic the effect of traditional palm oil” by using coconut oil and brassica oil, both of which it says are 100 per cent pure and natural. Butt Naked says its ethos is driven by love for “furry friends” and the need to do right by them in all aspects, so the brand donates five per cent of all profits to the Melbourne-based no-kill animal shelter, Save-A-Dog Scheme. Chipolatas for ‘healthy snacking’ The Fry Family Food Co’s Chipolatas are described as a selection of 100 per cent plant-based, non-GM and “incredibly versatile” products that make healthy snacking possible. The company says the Chipolatas are “fantastic” for lunch boxes, picnics or even to dip into some hummus or guacamole around a barbecue. Fry’s Chipolatas (RRP $6.99) can be found in the frozen foods’ aisle at selected independent supermarkets.
