OUR SUPPLIERS FROM PAGE 15 21 April Coopers Brewery Coopers Brewery launched an entertainment series called Live, Loud & Local, to help pubs and their patrons get through the current COVID-19 shutdown. Live, Loud & Local runs for an hour on Friday and Saturday nights offering stuck-at-home customers entertainment from some of Australia’s leading comedians, musicians, chefs and MCs as well as spot prizes and giveaways. The campaign is being coordinated through a central website (www.cooperslocal.com.au) and is hosted by Joel Creasey and Myf Warhurst. Coopers has partnered with “key” hotels across Australia which are virtually opening their doors to host the events. Pubs include Leonard’s House of Love in Melbourne, The Original Coopers Alehouse in Adelaide, the Sandbar in Perth, The Great Northern in Byron Bay, the Coogee Bay Hotel in Sydney and the Story Bridge Hotel in Brisbane. Coopers Director of Marketing and Innovation Cam Pearce says Live Loud and Local would bring together Coopers’ hospitality and arts industry partners to try and make life a little more normal during the current period of lockdown. “As we watched our partners in hospitality and the arts respond to coronavirus, we were inspired by their tenacity and willingness to overcome the challenges it presented,” he said. “From pubs pivoting to bottle shops and takeaway restaurants, to comedians and musicians moving online, we wanted to create a platform where we could highlight and celebrate their tenacity to innovate and succeed.” 28 April Arnott’s Arnott’s announced it would donate $350,000 worth of product to help Foodbank support Australians facing hardship as a result of COVID-19. The brand says it has been a “proud supporter” of Foodbank Australia for more than 10 years, donating millions of kilograms of food to families over this time. This most recent donation, says Arnott’s, also follows $100,000 in product donated to support those impacted by the recent bushfires. Arnott’s donation to help those financially impacted by the global pandemic is being distributed by Foodbank throughout Victoria and NSW. Arnott’s has also donated 752 food pouches to the local government at the location of each of their Arnott’s bakeries and head office to help support the local communities in which they operate. These pouches include individually wrapped Tim Tam biscuits and are being distributed to frontline workers such as teachers, aged care workers and healthcare workers. Arnott’s CEO George Zoghbi says the brand has supported Australian families and households through everyday life moments for more than 150 years and that hasn’t changed as it navigates the “extraordinary” challenges brought about by the current global health crisis. “Arnott’s is incredibly proud to be in a position to support our communities and the everyday Aussies who have been impacted by the bushfires and coronavirus,” he said. “That includes frontline workers but also families and people who are doing it tough as we face the road to economic recovery ahead.” 16 RETAIL WORLD MAY, 2020
