New President at Hanes Australasia

Hanes Australasia has appointed Tanya Deans as President, starting 8 February 2021.

Ms Deans will succeed David Bortolussi, who announced his departure in August 2020.

With over 25 years working with the company, Ms Deans is well-experienced in the businesses’ consumers, customers and product. Previously she has also held leadership roles across Hanes Australasia, most recently in the Bras N Things business.

“I am thrilled to confirm Tanya will be our new president of our Australasia business,” begins CEO of HanesBrands, Steve Bratspies.

“She is an outstanding people leader with deep experience building iconic brands. Tanya has demonstrated a clear vision for the future, and I look forward to working with her, as we apply her experience and learnings to drive growth across our global organisation.”

Ms Deans who will lead 4400 team members across the region says, “We have an outstanding team, iconic brands and a deep commitment to sustainability. I look forward to working with our team and the HanesBrands global organisation as we build a truly consumer-centric company and deliver long-term growth.”

Following Ms Deans transition, Mark Barry will fill the newly-created position, Group General Manager Bonds Group (previously known as the Apparel Group).

Kate Hann has been appointed as Group General Manager Bras N Things, and Jo Holding has been appointed to the elevated position of General Manager of Champion.

Paul Gould continues in his role as Group General Manager Sheridan.

“Mark and Kate have each been with the business for over 25 years in various business unit leadership and other senior roles and are extremely well regarded and respected both across our organisation and externally for their brand, channel and commercial experience,” says Ms Deans.

“In addition, Jo is doing a fantastic job of developing and growing the Champion brand in our market and I know it will continue to go from strength to strength under her leadership.”
