Ritchies Supermarkets has announced the results of its ‘You Buy One, We Give One,’ campaign in collaboration with Heinz/Gravox and the Salvation Army to support those in need within the community.
“Thanks to the incredible support of our customers, the campaign has raised an astounding $143,520 worth of products to be donated to the Salvation Army.”
The campaign, which ran for one week from 22 May 2024, invited customers to participate by purchasing any Heinz or Gravox product at Ritchies Supermarkets, with the pledge that for every item bought, an identical product would be donated to families in need through the Salvation Army.
“We are overwhelmed by the response from our customers,” says Ritchies CEO Fred Harrison. “Their compassion and willingness to support those facing hardship in our communities have truly made a difference. Together, with Kraft/Heinz, we have been able to raise a significant number of food products that will go to those who need them the most.”
The donated products will be distributed by the Salvation Army to families and individuals experiencing food insecurity and other challenges.
“You’ve given us over 50,000 items and it’s a 45% increase on the last campaign, we couldn’t be more happy with those results and we’re really grateful for all that you’ve done. We’ll make sure that all of those goods get to the people that really need them over this Winter. Thanks again,” says Warren Elliott of the Salvation Army.
The success of the ‘You Buy One, We Give One’ campaign underscores the importance of collective action in addressing social issues and supporting vulnerable members of society. “Through partnerships and initiatives like these, we can work towards building stronger, more compassionate communities where everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.”
