Global lifestyle brand MUJI is set to make a significant splash in Melbourne’s West with the opening of its first store at Highpoint Shopping Centre next week.
Opening on 29 August, the store will feature an expanded food range, featuring ten new items including Japanese food items from local independent producers, organic drip coffee, chocolate snacks, and new curry flavours.
In addition to its renowned range of apparel, homewares and everyday essentials, the Highpoint store will also become a community hub where MUJI will eventually host the popular MUJI Community Markets to showcase local makers and products.
“We are thrilled to introduce the MUJI experience to the vibrant community of Melbourne’s west,” said Vincent Tang, Marketing & PR Manager at MUJI Australia.
“Highpoint is the perfect location to share our commitment to simplicity and quality with a wider audience.”
To celebrate the grand opening, MUJI will host a series of exciting events, including giveaways, exclusive offers and new product launches. A captivating “WHAT IS MUJI” pop-up exhibition will also be held in the Highpoint Centre Court for two weeks from August 26, inviting customers to discover the brand’s philosophy through its most iconic products.
This latest store opening marks a key milestone in the brand’s Australian expansion following the success of its existing locations. With new stores planned for Knox and Chatswood later this year, the Highpoint store is just the beginning of MUJI’s Australian growth story.
“This expansion reflects our dedication to reaching more customers across Australia and solidifies our position as a leading lifestyle retailer in the region,” said Takuya Saito, Managing Director of MUJI in Australia.
“We anticipate over 50% year-over-year revenue growth in FY25,” he said.
With a focus on design, quality, and community engagement, MUJI is set to redefine the retail experience for Melbourne shoppers.
