Mortgage broker Aussie Home Loans has announced a new agreement with food rescue charity OzHarvest to become a national major partner.
Aussie’s more than 1,300 mortgage brokers and team members will raise funds for the charity, while the agreement includes a substantial cash donation to the organisation. The partnership came in the wake of OzHarvest’s flagship event, the CEO Cookoff, where Aussie CEO James Symond personally raised $111,250.
“I was so impressed by OzHarvest’s mission, operation and team during my involvement in the CEO Cookoff that it inspired me to look at what long-term support Aussie could provide beyond this one event,” he said.
Mr Symond went on to say that, although donating money was important, the agreement would also allow for Aussie Home Loans’ franchisees, brokers and local networks to develop programs at the grassroots level to support OzHarvest’s ‘Cooking for a Cause’ events.
“We are so thrilled that one of Australia’s most dynamic organisations is formalising their support for us,” founder and CEO of OzHarvest Ronni Kahn said. “Aussie is not only providing funding but is also creating opportunities for its team members across Australia to both volunteer their time and create their own fundraising programs and community connections to support us.”
