ALDI Australia has announced the winners of its largest competition ever, with Ben from NSW winning the grand prize of three years’ worth of free groceries with his “I love ALDI” rap song. Five other runner-up shoppers across NSW, VIC and SA will also receive one years’ worth of free ALDI groceries.
More than 6,000 entries were sent in by proud ALDI shoppers, proving how #ALDIcore they are via song, dance, poems, stunts and even custom couture.
“The incredible volume and quality of entries for the ALDIcore competition has been truly outstanding,” said Simon Padovani-Ginies, Group Director, ALDI Australia.
“We set out to find and celebrate our proudest ALDIcore customers who embody ‘Good Different’ in their DNA, and we are thrilled to be able to reward six passionate shoppers’ enthusiasm for our shopping experience with the prize of free groceries.
“We’ve loved seeing and hearing all the creative ways our customers embrace the Good Different lifestyle and are ALDI to the core. Every day our business is focused on delivering the highest quality products at the lowest possible prices to deliver the best value for our customers, and to have such a strong showing of enthusiasm and passion for our brand is a testament to our mission,” Mr Padovani-Ginies said.
I Love ALDI
Ben’s “I love ALDI” rap song covers a series of iconic ALDI moments all shoppers can relate to.
“Ben’s passion for ALDI’s unique layout, focused offerings and his ‘happy place’ of the Special Buys middle aisle is contagious within this parody rap,” Mr Padovani-Ginies said.
“Being ALDIcore can mean you come in for milk and leave with a chainsaw, and we can agree that Ben, and other shoppers like him, are indeed a Good Different breed.”
Of the win, Ben said: “I’m in shock – it’s life-changing! It’s unbelievable, I never thought they’d pick my video. I am so grateful and honoured, and I want to say a massive thank you to ALDI, probably three years’ worth of thankyous.”
