More than 400 industry leaders from across the craft beer supply chain are expected to attend the Australian Craft Brewers Conference (ACBC 2016) at the Royal International Convention Centre, Brisbane, on July 20-21.
Craft Beer Industry Association (CBIA) Executive Officer Chris McNamara says the organisation this year is amalgamating the two keystone events of the craft brewer’s calendar, the ACBC and the Craft Beer Awards.
“The events and speakers we have planned are dedicated to strengthening the industry, building solid national networks and expanding knowledge and insights,” he said.
“It’s an opportunity to have a rigorous big-picture discussion about where the industry is going.”
Mr McNamara says it is no secret that the popularity of craft beer in recent years has heralded major changes in the industry.
“Only a couple of years ago, craft beer was still considered a niche industry, but now it’s very much the mainstream,” he said.
“This represents a unique set of opportunities and challenges for individual business and the industry as a whole.”
