Dilmah has launched a new Ceylon Green Tea range, which is hand-picked and ethically produced at the Dilmah green tea factory in Nuwara Eliya, 6,500-7,000ft (1,981m-2,133m) above sea level, providing the taste, character and terroir of the finest tea-growing region in Sri Lanka.
Until recently, Dilmah green tea had been produced in China, as with the majority of green tea produced in Australia. Dilmah founder Merrill J Fernando made the decision to build a dedicated green tea production facility in Sri Lanka.
“Tea from this region is of unique character and flavour,” he said. “At Park Estate, I can also ensure the provenance of the tea and ensure stringent quality testing every step of the way.”
The new range is available in Pure Ceylon Green Tea, Ceylon Green Tea with Moroccan Mint, Ceylon Green Tea with Jasmine and Ceylon Green Tea with Lemongrass.
Dilmah has also released a limited-edition Seasonal Flush 2016 – Park Estate Emerald Green OPI – the rarest tea in the world. Dilmah Seasonal Flush is the result of a fleeting climactic phenomenon in Sri Lanka where wind, sunshine and the terroir of the land create perfect conditions for allowing tealeaves to produce a ’seasonal character’.
To celebrate the launch of Dilmah’s new Ceylon Green Tea range, Pullman Grand Circular Quay is offering a limited-edition ‘In Mint Condition’ Dilmah Ceylon Green Tea cocktail this month.
Dilmah’s new tea range is available in select Woolworths and Coles stores, with Woolworths stocking the Pure Ceylon Green Tea, Ceylon Green Tea with Moroccan Mint, Ceylon Green Tea with Jasmine and Ceylon Green Tea with Lemongrass, and Coles offering Pure Ceylon Green Tea and Ceylon Green Tea with Jasmine. All four varieties are also available in selected independent supermarkets.
