‘Females in Food’ launches in Australia

A new member-based organisation, Females in Food, is dedicated to empowering women in the food and beverage industry by ensuring they have the resources they need to excel and grow themselves and their businesses.

The collective is open to all women in food and beverage, whether they are executives, producers, entrepreneurs, chefs, brewers, stylists, manufacturers, educators or anyone else in between.

Females in Food founder Chelsea Ford says the organisation offers a place where women can find new ways to connect, learn, be inspired and support each other.

“I’ve worked in the food and beverage industry for over 25 years and I’ve seen first-hand how difficult it can be for women to excel,” she said.

“It’s not only that it’s a heavily male-dominated industry, it also takes really hard work to be a successful entrepreneur, and that can sometimes be a very lonely existence.”

Ms Ford says she wants to be in a world where women are empowered to create opportunities for themselves and support each other to promote collective success.

“Since our prelaunch via social media in July 2016, Females in Food has attracted interest from women across a range of occupations within the food and beverage industry and from around the world,” she said.

“Now our membership is live at www.femalesinfood.com.au and already we have a solid list of people who have registered interest about joining our collective.”

Females in Food’s annual membership costs $197 and includes multiple ways for people to engage, including online and face-to-face platforms.
