One of the largest food events in the country will take place at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on April 10-12.
Fine Food Queensland is aimed at bringing together the best of the state’s producers and businesses as a showcase for the food and hospitality industries.
“We’ve listened to what people want from this show, and we’ve reinvigorated it as a result,” event Director Minnie Constan said.
“The show has a fresh feel, which is a perfect match for our focus on fresh, healthy food and eating. From direct access to the state’s best growers at Fresh Produce Lane to the experts at Talking Food Stage who will be translating international trends into Queensland’s local needs, Fine Food Queensland provides access to all facets of the industry under one roof.
“It’s the perfect opportunity for those in foodservice and hospitality to learn, network and grow their businesses.”
Experts at the Talking Food Stage will cover topics affecting the industry, including sustainability, technology and social media. Local and regional producers will also be a focus of the event, with the Fresh Produce Lane a platform for Queensland’s regional fare.
The Fresh Produce Lane will this year feature AquaBotanical, claimed to be the world’s first water sourced entirely from fruit and vegetables – those surplus to the needs of the fresh produce market and instead provided to juice producers.
AquaBotanical says that when the fruit and vegetables are pressed to extract their juices, the water they naturally contain becomes a by-product. Until recently, the aqueous liquid was not reusable, but, by filtering and mineralising the aqueous liquid from juice concentrate, the brand says it has created an innovative water source.
Reality television stars will be among the onstage talent, including My Kitchen Rules winners Dan and Steph Mulheron, who run a café at Hervey Bay.
