Plant-based food pioneers, The Fry Family Food Co, has launched its first product made from pea protein.
Described as a “cruelty-free take on traditional mince”, the new Pea Protein Mince is 100% plant-based and made from non-genetically modified ingredients and plant proteins. The meat-free mince also contains no onion and garlic.
For Tammy Fry, Australian and New Zealand Marketing Director of The LIVEKINDLY Collective and member of the Fry family, the new product means families can still enjoy their favourite mince-based classics but with a kinder twist.
“Mince is the hero of so many Aussie family favourite meals – spaghetti bolognaise, Mexican burritos, nachos, a cottage pie or savoury mince on toast,” she says.
“So, the Fry’s family was incredibly passionate about offering a kinder twist on this classic ingredient, to make it easier for Aussies to reduce their meat consumption while still enjoying their favourite meals.”
Ms Fry says the Pea Protein Mince is actually easier to cook than traditional mince, cooking from frozen in just five minutes.
“It’s perfect for busy, on-the-go families – much like my own!”
The Pea Protein Mince, along with a variety of Fry’s plant-based products, is available in the freezer section of Coles and many independent retailers across Australia.
