Iconic Aussie biscuit maker rebrands as Bisko Bakehouse

Bisko Bakehouse, the new identity of Mac’s Shortbread Co., has unveiled its rebranding and the launch of its new packaging, now available nationally at Woolworths. This transformation marks a significant milestone in the company’s rich history, reflecting “its evolution and commitment to meeting the ever-changing needs of its customers.”

Bisko Bakehouse began its journey as a small cake shop, catering to the local community with a variety of cakes and bakery items. Recognising the growing demand for ready-to-eat biscuits, the family behind the bakehouse introduced the first batch of Mac’s Shortbread, crafted from a cherished family recipe. Starting from their humble bakery in Camberwell, Victoria, the biscuits quickly gained popularity, leading to expansion across Australia.

In 1964, the company moved to a larger facility in Surrey Hills to accommodate increasing demand. As the business continued to grow, the family relocated to country Victoria, establishing themselves as one of Australia’s most successful biscuit bakers.

Today, Bisko Bakehouse operates from a new, eco-friendly, state-of-the-art facility in Kerang, employing 19 locals and continuing the tradition of producing high-quality, delicious biscuits.

To complement the rebrand, Bisko Bakehouse has unveiled new packaging that is now available in Woolworth’s nationally. The refreshed packaging maintains the quality and flavour that customers have come to love while offering a modern, appealing look that reflects the brand’s vibrant new identity.

As Bisko Bakehouse moves forward, it remains dedicated to its core values of quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
