IGA has extended its partnership with St Vincent de Paul Society’s Food Van Hub in Victoria in a bid to help raise more funds for people who are doing it tough.
As part of the ongoing partnership, Vinnies will receive all the Community Chest Funds from products sold as part of the specially marked late week specials from today until this Sunday (23 May).
St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria CEO Sue Cattermole says that each month, the dedicated team at IGA continues to support the organisation’s Fitzroy and Collingwood Vinnies Soup Vans by supplying nutritious and long-life food.
“We are so grateful they are helping us raise even more funds this week with the marked late week specials to support us as we enter the colder months,” she says.
“We wouldn’t be able to serve the amount of meals or distribute food hampers to locals in need without such a generous commitment from IGA.”
IGA has had a national partnership with Vinnies for over 10 years, during IGA’s annual Christmas Appeal, which raises much needed funds to support people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage over the festive season.
IGA State Board Chairman Jeff Harper says that IGA giving back and looking after the locals wherever possible sits at the heart of everything the company does.
“We’re thrilled we can extend our partnership and work with Vinnies to help as many Victorians as possible doing it tough this winter,” he says.
