On the back of its successful 2021 Charity Golf Day, the Jones Retail Group has this year raised a record $40,353 for local Redlands youth charity The Cage Youth Foundation as part of the Group’s continued Heart of the Community charitable donation partnership.
The Jones Retail Group’s 4th Annual Charity Golf Day hosted 144 players on a full course at The Links Hope Island on the Gold Coast on 17 June.
“It was such an amazing day, and we are just blown away by the generosity of everyone who sponsored, played and donated on the day. These funds will enable us to help so many people through our programs and we couldn’t be more grateful,” The Cage Youth Foundation Manager Angie Bowers said.
Funds raised from last year’s event provided The Cage Youth Foundation with resources that enabled the team to assist over 8000 young people through mentoring and workshops as well as providing counselling services to over 1560 people through the generosity of those who donated and sponsored the 2021 event.
“The Jones Retail Group suppliers were so wonderful on the day, asking us more about the work we do, where we’re located and telling us their own stories which mean so much to us. We’re so grateful and appreciative to have the support of the Jones Retail Group and their suppliers who have been so generous to our Foundation for a second year in a row,” The Cage Youth Foundation founder Linda Grieves said.
Jones Retail Group owners Tyrone and Leanne Jones are proud of the result that the event raised this year and their continuing charitable partnership with The Cage Youth Foundation.
“We are delighted to provide much needed funds to The Cage from our Annual Golf Day. Both IGA and Jones & Co Grocer are passionate about supporting our local community and through our own charity, the Heart of the Community Foundation, we feel we can make a difference. Linda, Peter and the Team from The Cage are such an asset to the Redland Coast area, providing much needed support for our community with little or no Government funding. We are proud to be associated with such a great Charity,” Jones Retail Group Managing Director Tyrone Jones said.
Based in Redland Bay and servicing the Redlands Coast, The Cage Youth Foundation is a self-funded, not-for-profit organisation headed by Pete and Linda Grieve and has been actively helping those in need since 2001.
“Originally started as a youth outreach program, The Cage Youth Foundation has fast become a much larger organisation with a wide range of facilities for those in need and welcome donations of any kind.”
The Jones Retail Group owns and runs several Jones & Co Grocer IGA stores in the Redlands area including IGA on Bloomfield and SUPA IGA Mt Cotton as well as an online shopping option available through its website. The newest store, IGA Queen Street Village, is due to open at the new shopping complex in Southport later this year.
The Heart of the Community Foundation is dedicated to changing and improving lives through providing funds and contributing to their local community and charity groups.
