Mud House Wines, based in New Zealand’s Marlborough region, has teamed up with Tropfest as the official wine partner for the 2016 short-film festival.
Mud House will bring its Marlborough cellar-door experience to Sydney’s Centennial Parklands for Tropfest 2016 on Sunday, February 14, with its pop-up Mud House Woolshed opening its doors to film fans.
Mud House’s winemaker, Cleighten Cornelius, says he is looking forward to showcasing his wines in the heart of Sydney at such a popular event, which is returning after Tropfest 2015 was cancelled through funding issues. Extra funding has been sourced to allow the 2016 event to be staged.
“My partner in wine, Nadine, and I are so pumped that Sydneysiders will be enjoying our wines at Tropfest this year,” he said. “It’s a unique event and we are both so pleased it’s remained for 2016,” he said.
Tropfest’s partnerships and festival manager, Henry Kalaf, says the addition of Mud House Wines to the Tropfest bill is a fantastic fit for the event.
“A taste for adventure and love of the outdoors is at the heart of the Mud House culture, and that ethos really resonates with us at Tropfest,” he said. “Our festival showcases the great film-making talent in Australia in a relaxed, outdoor environment.”
