PMA Fresh Connections event with assistant minister’s input

The annual trade show and conference for the fresh fruit, vegetable and floral value chains in the Australasia region will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 17 to 19.

The first day of PMA Fresh Connections 2016 will feature a variety of discussion forums and an opening address from South Australia’s Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, Senator Anne Ruston, owner of Ruston’s Roses at Renmark, a commercial cut-flower, tourism, café, floristry and retail business.

The event’s theme is ‘Growing a Brighter Future’.

The trade show, to be held on the second day along with the welcome breakfast and gala dinner, offers the opportunity to meet with buyers from retailers, source new suppliers and check out competitors.

The return of the trade show’s ‘Fresh Hub’ zone provides a platform for more than 1,500 industry representatives to gather and explore new information and technology available in the fresh-produce and floral industry.

Tickets to the trade show cost $85.

The final day will be dedicated to special-interest groups, along with both a ‘retail tour’ and ‘farm tour’.
