Woolworths is gearing up to mark a major milestone with Share the Dignity this month during the bi-annual Dignity Drive.
The latest Drive is on track to deliver the one millionth product donation to the organisation from Woolworths team members and customers.
To celebrate, Everyday Rewards will be offering members the chance to boost and receive 10x points on the purchase of period care products. A number of offers will be available to all customers shopping in store and online throughout the month across the period care range, including 30% off pads, tampons and liners until 6 August.
5¢ from the sale of every period care product will be donated to Share the Dignity until 27 August. These funds will help provide free period care products to those in need and maintain over 109 Dignity vending machines.
“We’re looking forward to celebrating the one millionth product donation during Share the Dignity’s Dignity Drive, and would like to thank all of our customers and team members for their generous support over the years to reach this incredible milestone,” says Woolworths Supermarkets Managing Director Natalie Davis.
“There’s always a lot of passion for the Dignity Drives in our stores throughout March and August each year, with many team members dressing in pink and hosting events to support Share the Dignity. It’s wonderful to see the customer and team engagement for the Dignity Drives each year.”
Throughout the month, pink collection boxes will be available in all Woolworths supermarkets across Australia for customers to donate any period care products that are in their original packaging, including pads, tampons, menstrual cups, period undies, reusable pads, as well as incontinence aids.
The August Dignity Drive comes as Share the Dignity has released the results of its latest Bloody Big Survey, which found that 64% of respondents find it difficult to buy period products.
“This Dignity Drive is particularly exciting for our partnership with Woolworths as we are expecting to reach our one millionth period product donated in a Woolworths supermarket,” says Share the Dignity founder Rochelle Courtenay.
“Every single donation made by Woolworths customers and team members has helped bring dignity to those experiencing homelessness, domestic violence or poverty in the local area.”
Woolworths has partnered with Share the Dignity since 2019, with almost $3 million raised through various Dignity Drives and fundraising events. These donations have helped fund over 109 of Share the Dignity’s Dignity vending machines, which provide free period care and are located in areas where there is a need across Australia.
