The 3,475sqm store adjacent to Canterbury train station in Sydney’s south will cater to the growing community as the area undergoes urban renewal.
Woolworths Canterbury is located at the base of a new apartment complex. Construction on the site began in September 2014 and the doors opened to customers on November 16.
In addition to its close proximity to the local train station, the Woolworths store has over 110 underground car parking spaces for shoppers with two hours free parking and direct access to the store.
Store Manager Alma Gomez says Canterbury Woolworths has been designed with the customer at heart following a great deal of time spent understanding what local shoppers are looking for.
“The new look store features some of the great aspects of Woolworths’ new store and renewal program that is being rolled out nationwide and will include a delicatessen, bakery, seafood section, butcher, a marketplace feel to fruit and vegetables and Woolworths Free Fruit for Kids offering,” she said. “The store will also include a focus on wellness with Woolworths’ Macro Wholefoods Market range that includes free range, free from and organic choices. Shoppers will also be able to experience the convenience of wider aisles throughout their shop.”
The store is open from 7am to 10pm daily and has provided additional employment opportunities for the Canterbury area, with approximately 120 people joining the team.
