WHAT’S NEW ‘ALL-NATURAL’ CHOC HONEY ‘GAME-CHANGER’ Capilano has launched what it claims is a “game-changing” spread, Choc Honey. The product is described as an “all-natural” nut-free spread made from only two ingredients: Australian honey and sustainably sourced cocoa. Available in Mint Chocolate and Salted Caramel variants, the new product is said to contain 10g of protein, no added sugar, no artificial sweeteners, natural ingredients and fewer than 110 calories per serving. YoPro’s Dessert Sticks are available in 4x135ml packs in the ice-cream aisle at Coles supermarkets. She adds that not only are they Australia’s first vegan brioche buns, they’re also a product first for the global vegan company. BEYOND MEAT ADDS PLANT-BASED ‘BEEF’ US-founded plant-based meat brand Beyond Meat has launched Beyond Beef. The brand says vegetarians, vegans and meat-eaters will find that the plant-based ‘beef’ mince tastes just like real meat, offering consumers the freedom to transform the mince into a “meaty”, plant-based treat. Beyond Beef (RRP $18 per 500g pack) consists of plant-based pea protein, with no cholesterol, GMOs, soy or gluten. It is claimed to pack more protein and iron than beef but with less saturated and total fat.
