WHAT’S NEW TIME FOR TIMBOON’S NEW LOOK To celebrate 21 years, Victoria’s Timboon Fine Ice Cream is modernising its look for its take-home tubs. Creative input for the new design, which will be rolled out across Timboon’s six premium ice cream flavours, was from Sydney studio Squad Ink. “The agency brought us a number of key cues we were looking to accentuate: provenance, hard scoop and quality,” founder Tim Marwood said. “The new design is more stylish. The gold trim gives the tub a premium feel.” Mr Marwood and wife Caroline Simmons have been making ice cream since 1999. Timboon is now distributed to 80-plus “gourmet” stores and IGAs across Victoria, five mobile event vans and two regional concept stores. The pair are hoping to open a new scoop shop in Geelong and Ballarat, with expansion into South Australia and NSW being considered, while they’re also talking with a Middle Eastern importer. ORGRAN SERVES EGGS VEGAN EASY Australian family owned ‘free from’ brand Orgran is offering the Australian made Vegan Easy Egg, describing its taste as what sets it apart. When prepared as scrambled eggs, Orgran says, this vegan alternative provides “7.6g of protein per serve” and acts as a good source of fibre, while being “cholesterol free”. Orgran’s Vegan Easy Egg is promoted as providing Australians living with allergies or intolerances, as well as those choosing a vegetarian, vegan or flexitarian lifestyle, the option to enjoy their favourite egg dish, but with a plant base. According to Orgran, the key ingredient in the Vegan Easy Egg is chickpea flour, which is “rich in fibre, protein and micronutrients”. On the recent launch of Vegan Easy Egg into Coles, Orgran CEO Sam Schachna said: “We know people all over the world are moving towards more of a ‘free from’ lifestyle, with consumer habits telling us that vegan and plant based diets are on the rise year on year. “It’s important with any ‘alternative’ innovation that the taste is right. We’re really pleased our Australian made Orgran innovation, the Vegan Easy Egg, tastes great.” The product (RRP $5) is available in the health food aisle at Coles nationally and selected independent retailers and health food stores Australia-wide. HOW’S THAT FOR BABY? WELL BOWLED Australian baby food brand Little Bellies is continuing its expansion with the launch of its Baby Bellies Organic Baby Bowls range, now available across Australia. With annual Australian and New Zealand retail sales values claimed to be approaching $40 million, Little Bellies is promoted as “the largest baby and toddler snack brand” in these two countries. “This upwards trajectory continues after the brand recorded strong double- digit percentage growth in the first half of this year,” said Little Bellies Managing Director Clive Sher, who co-founded the brand in Australia with brother Steven. The new Organic Baby Bowls range includes four ‘Simple Spoonfuls’ flavours suitable for those aged six-plus, and two ‘Tasty Textures’ flavours suitable for those aged seven months-plus. The Simple Spoonfuls options include Veggie Bowl – Pea and Carrot, and Veggie Bowl – Sweet Potato, Pumpkin and Zucchini. The Jumble Bowl – Sweet Potato, Carrot and Brown Rice is another fruit-free savoury blend, combining vegetables and grains. The Goodie Bowl – Apple, Apricot and Millet introduces a “wholesome” fruit and grain-based blend, designed for after-meal or between-meal snacking moments. Two further Tasty Textures options introduce Smoothie Bowls – Banana, Apple and Oats, and Apple, Strawberry and Oats.
