MARKETING NEWS CURRY FOR A NEIGHBOURLY CAUSE Passage Foods says that in light of the Covid-19 crisis and the adverse impact it’s having on “our Balinese neighbours”, it’s putting its culinary skills to work to support the team at Yayasan Solemen Indonesia Foundation to continue its efforts to supply basic food supplies to the most in need villages. “We’ve created a new Balinese curry and will be donating 100 per cent of the proceeds from each sale – that’s $5 per pack to the foundation,” Flavour Makers Senior Brand Manager Heath Dickson said. “Our new curry is sold online exclusively through AusPantry.com.” PROBIOTIC PRODUCT IS ‘BEST YOGHURT’ Farmers Union Greek Style Probiotic Yogurt has been named the Readers’ Choice Winner at the 2020 Healthy Food Guide Awards in the yoghurt category. The product, which arrived in supermarkets in March this year, won the consumers’ vote ahead of other popular yoghurt brands shortlisted in the category. Lion Dairy & Drinks Commercial Director Darryn Wallace says introducing Farmers Union Greek Style Probiotic Yogurt to the core range was a response to changing consumer behaviour, with shoppers looking to “great tasting simple foods” to boost their wellbeing. $1M PRIZES IN YOPLAIT PROMOTION Australian yoghurt brand Yoplait has launched its biggest consumer promotion to date, giving shoppers the chance to win a share in up to $1 million worth of prizes. Yoplait’s You Play 2 Win promotion will run across selected Yoplait fruit and Forme products, with as many as 31,500 prizes up for grabs across the duration of the promotion (12 October to 6 December). Those buying a participating Yoplait product and entering at youplay2win.com.au, consumers will lift the lid from a virtual tub of Yoplait to reveal if they have won $10, $20, $50, $100 or $1000 in instant prizes. Lion Dairy & Drinks Commercial Director Darryn Wallace says the promotion will bring more value to the yoghurt aisle and give shoppers another reason to choose Yoplait. “We want to give Aussie families a bit of good news during these tough times by giving them the chance to win a share in up to $1 million of prizes, while engaging with a loved and trusted brand,” he said. SOAP SUPPORT FOR KIDS CHARITY To mark World Handwashing Day on 15 October, Pental’s Country Life soap range is donating five per cent of all net sales this summer to Australian children’s charity Royal Far West. Country Life’s parent brand, Pental, and Royal Far West are asking consumers to support this cause by choosing products from the Country Life range when buying soap for their families. “People are already buying soap at an increased rate during the Covid-19 health crisis and we know that Australians are passionate about supporting Australian made and owned businesses that support the wider Australian community, particularly those that are experiencing hardship, so we’re hoping that people will choose the Country Life range to help support children from our regional and remote communities,” Pental CEO Charlie McLeish said. Royal Far West CEO Lindsay Cane said: “The need for our services is ever increasing. We’re delighted that Pental has chosen to partner with our charity over the summer months, gifting a percentage of sales towards our programs, which will enable us to support more children in rural and remote areas of Australia with critical mental and developmental health and wellbeing services. ” Pental’s Country Life will donate five per cent of all net sales of the soap range between 15 October 2020 and 28 February 2021 to support Royal Far West families.
