WHAT’S NEW MEET THE MEATLESS BOLOGNESE Promoted as featuring all the authentic flavours of a traditional Bolognese, v2sauce is made using plant-based v2mince. “Life is busy,” v2food CEO and founder Nick Hazell said, “and this delicious Bolognese offers a great solution for an easy but tasty plant-based midweek meal.” v2 has partnered with Victoria-based 7 Chefs, described as one of Australia’s leading pasta and sauce manufacturers, to bring the product to market. 7 Chefs will manufacture, market and distribute the v2sauce nationally. Claimed to be packed with high quality ingredients, v2sauce includes “rich Italian tomatoes” and “traditional herbs” to provide a ready-made Bolognese said to taste the same as a traditional recipe, but as a “delicious” plant-based alternative. v2sauce is currently available in Woolworths, where a 400g tub retails for $6. HEAT IS ON WITH BLANKET COVERAGE The Heat Holder ‘world of warmth’ range of socks, beanies, gloves and accessories now includes blankets throws. The new Heat Holder thermal oversized blankets/throws (RRP $39.99) are promoted as being made of a “luxuriously soft” ‘HeatWeaver’ fur fleece developed to be efficient at retaining heat, with an official TOG rating of 1.7. The “larger than normal” size of 2m x 1.8m is also said to make it perfect for wrapping yourself up on those cold winter nights on the couch. KING’S ASIAN IN THE PACK King of Kings Foods describes itself as a proudly Australian owned and operated brand that has been making restaurant quality Asian foods since 2009. Its experienced chefs are said to have developed an “authentic” new range of meal solutions, including Prawn Fried Rice, Sticky BBQ Pork Buns, Sesame Prawn Toast, and Gua Bao Buns. “Our quick and delicious meal solutions are sure to be a hit with the whole family,” King of Kings Foods said. THERE’S NUTRITION IN MY SOUP The Olive Branch is pushing the “delicious and healthy” attributes of its Hearty Vegetable Minestrone and Green Pea & Ham soups. Featuring “nourishing fresh vegetables and the finest all-natural ingredients”, the soups are said to be a “healthy and convenient” alternative to a homemade creation, with a “nutritious combination” of “essential” vitamins and nutrients, but no preservatives, fillers, thickeners, gluten or dairy. This range retails for $6.95.
