Metcash Supplier of the Year Awards

Henkel Australia (Laundry & Homecare) has been awarded Supplier of the Year at the first-ever Metcash Supplier of the Year Awards held in Sydney last week.

The Metcash Supplier of the Year Awards was held at the Australian Technology Park with IGA ambassador Shane Jacobson as the host for the evening. The awards acknowledged the sales, support and innovation from suppliers throughout the year, from promotions through to field teams offered directly to IGA’s retailers.

Metcash CEO of Supermarkets and Convenience Steven Cain said: “We’re delighted to celebrate our first-ever Metcash Supplier of the Year Awards. The suppliers shortlisted truly embrace the spirit of working with independent retailers and we’re extremely proud to celebrate the hard work and commitment they’ve shown throughout the year.

“We’re also pleased to announce that tonight we will be supporting some of the charitable partners that help make our communities thrive. These include our national long-term partners, the Special Olympics and the McGrath Foundation. This is in addition to two recent additions – the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and One80TC.”

In addition to the $55,000 cheques donated to charities on the night, Metcash raised more than $33,000 through the raffles and auctions held, which will be split evenly among the four charities.
