CEBIT Australia 2019 line-up announced

The 2019 line-up for CEBIT Australia will showcase some of the nation’s most influential leaders in technology, finance and innovation this October.

To be held at Sydney’s International Convention Centre, the annual B2B technology exhibition and conference will feature over 200 expert speakers. They will deliver keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, sessions and lightning talks.

Among the line-up of speakers are Andrew McMullan (Commonwealth Bank); Tim Roberts (Westpac); Kate Burleigh (ANZ); Lee Hitchin (Microsoft Australia); Steven Scheurman (IBM Asia Pacific); Peter Xing (KPMG) and Hercules Koustantopoulos (Atlassian).

CEBIT Central Stage

A number of “world-class” keynote speakers will present on the CEBIT Central Stage located within the new-look exhibition.

These include UK-based Stephen Attenborough, employee number one and now Commercial Director of Virgin Galactic; world-renowned cybercrime expert Mikko Hypponen from F-Secure; and 2018 Australian of the Year, Michelle Simmons, Scientia Professor of Quantum Physics at the Faculty of Science, UNSW.

Creating the program

More than 100 influential cross-industry representatives from eight committee areas have worked together for the first time to put the program together.

Committees included The Future of Industry, Digital Pioneers, Technology Gurus, Technology Innovators, Start-ups, Women in Tech, Supply Chain & Industry 4.0 and FinTech & Finance.

Some of Australia’s best minds have also worked alongside the CEBIT team and its new Chairperson, former Facebook ANZ CEO, Stephen Scheeler. Together they have produced what is claimed to be a “highly informative curated session program”. It will highlight current industry trends and showcase digital case studies from the world’s largest corporations.

This year’s themes

“Based on extensive work with our incredible Advisory Committee members over the last six months, we formulated six content pillars to build the framework of the conference program,” Mr Scheeler said.

“These include the areas of transformation and disruption, business growth, data privacy and trust, the future of work, changing lives with technology, and the application of emerging technology.

“This will enable CEBIT to appeal to the new wave of technology buyers and specifiers that now shape the technology eco-system, whilst also appealing to our traditional technology audience.”
