This Show is Running!

Media Release

6 July, 2020

The organisers of the Foodservice Australia trade exhibition have confirmed the show will be running in Sydney from 8-10 November as planned – and will include all the regular features that the industry looks forward to each year.

Exhibition Director Tim Collett said “it has been a tough year for everyone, but the hospitality industry is coming back online and the message we are getting is that operators are looking to reconnect with suppliers and find new ways to rebuild their business”.

The latest government advice suggests that business events will be starting in September. They will play an important role in kickstarting business activities and are different to mass public events due to the controlled environment and trackability and participants.

Collett says “tradeshow are about bringing industries together and creating new opportunities. This event will be one of the most important we have run. It might also be the only big show to run this year. We are expecting huge interest from the retail, foodservice and industrial sectors.”

Organisers know that some companies are struggling and have created a unique “exhibitor recovery package” with free and discounted services to help them stay involved. Collett says “it is our way to giving back and helping those producers get in front of their customers”.

In addition to 350 exhibitors there will be special events including the Chef of the Year, Aged Care Catering Summit, Café School, The Sweet Spot and National Restaurant Conference.

Wes Lambert from Restaurant & Catering says “we are looking forward to the show and encourage all our members to come and see what is available. We are also working hard to make the conference relevant to the current times. It is a great chance to learn from each other’.

Karen Doyle, President of the chef’s association agrees the show will be critical. “Chefs have been hit harder than anyone by the lockdown. This gives them a chance to come together and find new ideas and connections. I am looking forward to catching up with colleagues and suppliers”.

Entry to the show is free but you must work in a food or hospitality business. For more information on visiting or exhibiting visit www.foodserviceaustralia.com.au or call the food event team on 03 9999 5460.
