Iconic Australian poultry retailer Lenard’s is celebrating 36 years of success and family tradition.
A testament to the enduring appeal of quality products and exceptional customer service, Lenard’s has become a household name across the country. The company, founded by Lenard Poulter in 1987, has grown from a single store in Queensland to a national franchise.
Behind this successful brand is a family affair with Lenard’s daughter, Kelly Beach, and her husband Joel Beach playing pivotal roles in the business.
Ms Beach who started working at Lenard’s as a teenager, is now an integral part of the management team. Her passion for the business and commitment to upholding her father’s legacy is evident in every decision she makes. “Lenard’s is more than just a business to us; it’s our family legacy,” says Ms Beach. “We are committed to continuing my father’s vision of providing Australians with fresh, high-quality poultry products.”
The company operates on two fronts – franchising and manufacturing. The franchising arm continues to thrive with many long-standing stores such as Willows Townsville marking its 30th year of operation this year and Caringbah Sydney store currently undergoing refurbishment after 11 years of successful operation.
The manufacturing team boasts employees who have been with the company for nearly two decades. Mathew Turner and Natasha Wells, who both started their careers at Lenard’s stores as teenagers, have been part of the manufacturing team for 19 and 14 years respectively. Vicky, another long-standing employee with around ten years of experience in manufacturing, now works in the sales team.
Cameron Lee, the Product Manager with 15 years of service at Lenard’s under his belt, leads a product team that continually innovates to meet customer needs. The team has recently launched new economical products such as Pockets, Lenny Pops, Bulk Packs and new Sausage flavours that are more accessible through independent retailers. A new ready-to-heat (cooked) range is also set to launch soon.
In addition to these exciting developments, Lenard’s is set to open a factory outlet in Capalaba. This move marks an exciting new chapter for the company and opens up opportunities for more factory outlets across Australia.
“Lenard’s success story is not just about business growth; it’s about family values and commitment to quality that has stood the test of time.” As they celebrate their 36th year in business this year, they look forward to many more years of serving Australians with their fresh and delicious poultry products.
