KitKat introduces new ‘festive ritual’

KitKat has teamed up with comedian Jimmy Rees to launch the DIY KitKat Cabin Kit.

According to the chocolate brand, the new product provides the “perfect excuse to take a break over a new festive ritual”.

The KitKat Cabin Kit comes with a selection of some of Australia’s “favourite” brands, including six KitKat milk chocolate bars, six KitKat white chocolate bars, a KitKat Santa, a pack of Smarties, a bag of Allen’s Raspberries and a bag of Nestlé Baker’s Choice White Chocolate Melts.

Mr Rees says that while families are filled with different characters, a shared love of chocolate and quality time can bring everyone together during the holidays.

“The lead up to Christmas is my favourite time of the year – but between end of year parties and shopping, it’s certainly tough getting the family unit together,” he says. “We loved having a crack at the KitKat Cabin in our household. Give it a go!”

Mr Rees’ latest video on Instagram pokes fun at how the members of every family are unique, with different ways of doing things and contrasting taste buds, but “ultimately, they all come together during the festive season over a tasty treat”.

Nestlé Head of Marketing Confectionery Melanie Chen says there’s nothing better than spending quality time with family and friends.

“The KitKat Cabin is tapping into the ritual of making gingerbread houses during this time of year and making them more delicious with KitKat. We think this can become the new family favourite holiday activity every year,” she says.

“Jimmy was naturally a perfect candidate to bring to life all the different ways Aussies can create their delicious cabins – even when a few personalities get involved!”

The KitKat Cabin Kit has hit shelves nationally for a RRP $25 at Coles, IGA, Kmart, and Big W.
