Foodbank has partnered with Encore Tissue to produce an Australian-made toilet paper.
Sold exclusively in Woolworths, every purple 20-roll packet of Foodbank Toilet Paper purchased will go towards raising funds for the food relief organisation.
Encore has committed to donating the equivalent of 500,000 meals to Foodbank by the end of 2025.
Having been a partner with Foodbank for several years, Encore is building on the goods it donates, embarking on a new direction of fundraising for Foodbank.
“As a proudly Australian, family-owned business, we believe in supporting those who need it most,” says Encore Tissue CEO Sam Ellis.
“Partnering with Foodbank on this initiative allows us to make a tangible difference in the fight against hunger while providing households with a quality, locally made product.”
As Australians find themselves grappling with high housing and grocery costs, Foodbank is seeing heightened demand for food relief across the country.
“Last year, 3.4 million households experienced food insecurity, motivating Foodbank to work closely with its partners towards a hunger free Australia,” says Foodbank Australia CEO Brianna Casey AM.
“We are seeing an increase in the demand for food relief at the same time as donor fatigue is setting in. The cost-of-living is affecting individuals, businesses and charities, and highlighted that we need to get smarter about creating a sustainable model to ensure we can continue to source and provide food relief to those doing it tough.”
The product roll out is being supported by Cartology in-store, below the line activities and a live meal tracker at foodbank.org.au.
