ALDI has won Supermarket of the Year 2022 in Roy Morgan’s Customer Satisfaction Awards, claiming the title for the sixth time.
ALDI’s average customer satisfaction of 96.1% proves customers don’t have to pick between quality and affordability when they shop at ALDI.
ALDI Australia Group Buying Director Simon Padovani-Ginies says the results demonstrate that ALDI’s ability to deliver the absolute best quality at the lowest possible price resonates with Aussie shoppers.
“We are thrilled ALDI has won a spot in the hearts and back pockets of Aussie shoppers to be named Australia’s Best Supermarket of the Year by Roy Morgan for the third consecutive year. The achievement has only been possible through one simple and consistent commitment – high quality products at the lowest possible prices.
“Aussies deserve access to both fresh and quality products at great value for money, and to be rated the best supermarket by Aussie shoppers year after year is a proud moment for ALDI and our many Australian business partners. Award wins like this are only possible because of our hardworking business partners who share our mission to provide the very best ‘Good Different’ experience to Australians,” Mr Padovani-Ginies said.
Roy Morgan’s customer satisfaction ratings are calculated from an annual face-to-face survey of around 60,000 Australians – the world’s most comprehensive ongoing single source survey. The annual award is presented to the organisation with the highest number of top monthly ratings for customer satisfaction throughout the previous 12 months against its industry competitors.
The announcement comes as more Australians seeking value are shopping at ALDI. The savings offered by shopping at ALDI are significant, according to PwC data, the supermarket saved its customers “a huge” $3.1 billion in 2022 alone.
“ALDI’s business model is about saving people money. We aim to cut out unnecessary costs and pass these savings onto customers,” Mr Padovani-Ginies said. “This has never been tested more than it was in the past year, and we’re proud that we’ve been able to maintain our low-price leadership, delivering real money back in the pockets of Australians when they need it most.
“We recognise the great responsibility we have to our shoppers and the broader community when they’re feeling the pinch from the rising cost of living and our Price Promise remains the same – we won’t be beaten on the cost of your weekly shop,” Mr Padovani-Ginies concluded.
ALDI has previously won Roy Morgan’s Customer Satisfaction Awards for ‘Supermarket of the Year’ in 2021, 2020, 2016, 2014 and 2012, ‘Mobile Phone Service Provider of the Year’ in 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2015, and ‘Liquor Store of the Year’ in 2017.
