Roy Morgan has unveiled its Annual Customer Satisfaction Award winners, with ALDI named Supermarket of the Year 2020. The company’s telco service, ALDImobile, was also a winner, being awarded Mobile Phone Service Provider of the Year 2020.
ALDI Australia Group Director Simon Padovani-Ginies says the retailer is “hugely excited to be recognised as Australia’s best supermarket”.
“We are continuously striving to deliver the highest quality products at the lowest prices possible, and it’s clear this commitment is resonating with customers year in and year out,” he says.
“We are proud to receive this award and aim to continue to live up to shoppers’ expectations that ALDI is Australia’s best supermarket by delivering exceptional value every time they shop.”
Roy Morgan’s customer satisfaction ratings are calculated from an annual survey of 50,000 Australians. It is claimed to be the world’s most comprehensive ongoing single source survey. Covering 40 categories across all industries, the annual award is presented to the organisation from each category with the highest number of top monthly ratings for customer satisfaction throughout the previous 12 months.
Roy Morgan CEO Michele Levine says the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards are about recognising businesses that provide consistently high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the year.
“[They] are a valuable way for brands to gauge how they compare with their competitors,” she says.
“As Roy Morgan recently found supermarkets to be the most trusted brands in Australia, it is an important time to also reflect on customer satisfaction in this industry specifically.”
ALDI has previously won Roy Morgan’s Customer Satisfaction Awards for ‘Supermarket of the Year’ in 2016, 2014 and 2012, for ‘Mobile Phone Service Provider of the Year’ in 2019 and 2015, and for ‘Liquor Store of the Year’ in 2017.
