AOC welcomes Old El Paso as official Olympic team partner

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has welcomed the General Mills family favourite Mexican food brand Old El Paso™ as an official partner of the Australian Olympic Team for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

With less than a year until the cauldron is lit in Paris, this new partnership will see Old El Paso as the “Official Meal Kit Partner”. The family favourite brand will share the vibrancy of Mexican inspired food as it comes together with sport to create meaningful connections to support athletes in the lead up, during and post the Olympics via its global brand platform ‘Make Some Noise’.

General Mills Australia Vice President/Managing Director Matt Salter says, “We are extremely proud to have our Old El Paso™ brand join the AOC partner family. The Olympics is the pinnacle of sport and we know Aussies like to make some noise as we cheer the home team on together.

“Nothing brings people and their communities together like sport or tucking into their favourite meals. The vibrancy of Old El Paso™ Taco Tuesday means there’s usually a little chaos and a lot of good noise and fun – just like the Olympics,” he said.

“Whether you like your tacos mild or spicy, crunchy or soft there is something for everyone when they enjoy Old El Paso™ at the dinner table. When people sit together over Mexican food, it creates happy noise and genuine connections – the perfect way to support our Aussie athletes competing on a world stage in so many different sporting pursuits.

“We look forward to sharing more of what our exciting collaboration looks like in the lead up to the Olympics as we encourage athletes, fans, friends and families to ‘Make Some Noise’ with Old El Paso™ and put our iconic yellow box front and centre in supporters’ homes as they cheer for the Green & Gold,” Mr Salter said.

AOC CEO Matt Carroll says he is thrilled to have Old El Paso join the Olympic Partner family.

“Thank you to the entire Old El Paso™ team for helping Australian athletes’ Olympic dreams become a reality,” Mr Carroll said.
