Foodland awarded supermarket of the year

South Australian independent supermarket Foodland has been awarded Roy Morgan’s supermarket of the year 2017.

This is the third time in five years Foodland has won the award, having the most satisfied supermarket customers in the country.

Leading independent research agency Roy Morgan conducts the yearly research for the awards, asking a sample of more than 50,000 people how satisfied they are with retailers and service providers.

This latest win caps off a successful 12 months for the Foodland brand as it also won Canstar Blue’s Supermarket of the Year award, while McLaren Vale Foodland won National Store of the Year and International Retailer of the Year. Foodland also opened six new stores and refurbished a further six.

Roy Morgan CEO Michele Levine says Foodland has been providing consistent quality service for years and continues to do so.

“Foodland performed excellently in 2017 and was a step above its competition, winning an exceptional nine monthly Customer Satisfaction Awards, far ahead of the chasing pack,” she said.

Foodland CEO Con Sciacca says the win is affirmation of the company’s values of being trustworthy, reliable and honest.

“Listening to our customers and providing them with the best possible customer service is at the cornerstone of what being a Foodland retailer is all about,” he added. “I couldn’t be any more proud of the Foodland brand, retailers and staff.”

Foodland is seen as an iconic brand in South Australia with a 96 per cent awareness rate, more than 100 stores, and the highest market share for independent supermarkets in the country.
