Foodstuffs North Island – the 100% NZ-owned grocery co-op serving more than 300 local communities – has published a new webpage showing its progress in implementing reforms aimed at improving competition in the grocery sector.
The Grocery Market Regulation (GMR) Dashboard outlines all the changes the co-op has made since the Commerce Commission published its market study into the grocery sector in March 2022, and the enactment of the Grocery Industry Competition Act in July 2023.
The Dashboard can be viewed at foodstuffs.co.nz/Grocery-Market-Regulation-Dashboard.
Foodstuffs North Island Chief Executive Chris Quin says the Dashboard shows the co-op’s commitment to transparency and compliance.
“We’re working hard every day to drive better outcomes for customers, including implementing the Grocery Supply Code, ensuring we abide by the Fair Trading Act, particularly when it comes to price integrity, and rolling out our wholesale supply offering,” Quin says.
The GMR Dashboard will be updated regularly with the latest figures and developments.
