Freedom Foods’ Crafted Blends products, manufactured at the company’s newly acquired facility in Victoria, will feature a front-of-pack notice alerting consumers to the possible presence of nuts.
Freedom Food Group says it has always worked hard to maintain its allergen-free status, adhering to the highest level of allergen management.
This remains a core focus for the business at its facility in Leeton, NSW, opened in 2014, with new products dedicated to allergen-free credentials and a reformulation of its core range planned.
The company’s recent acquisition of Popina Foods, based in Melbourne, has provided Freedom Foods with new product opportunities. As part of this, it is extending its Crafted Blends range, some of which will include nuts – a potential allergen that was excluded from the Leeton facility.
“Our labels will be clearly marked to communicate this change and make sure all our loyal customers have this information prior to launch,” Freedom Foods said.
“To ensure we’re clear and transparent, this new range will clearly communicate on front of pack the following: ‘This product is made in our new facility in Victoria. Our existing products that have nut-free claims are made in our nut-free facility in NSW’.”
