Gravox is partnering with St Vincent de Paul Society to help support those in need this Christmas.
The Buy A Boat initiative involves Tik-Tok pottery artist Shelby Sherritt upcycling 10 gravy boats found in Vinnie’s stores throughout Australia. Each unique design will be available to purchase through an online auction, between 28 November and 5 December, with all proceeds going to Vinnies.
“Before I was a ceramist, I was a social worker, so it feels like a full circle moment to be giving these gravy boats a new life to support those in need,” says Ms Sherritt.
“It’s so empowering to be able to use my art to help others, and I hope that it inspires others to get creative.”
Australians who don’t secure one of the bespoke gravy boats can support by heading into Vinnies to purchase their own gravy boat and at select stores, they will receive a free Gravox product with their purchase, while stocks last.
“Gravox plays a key role in Christmas festivities, bringing meals and people together as they share a moment of connection around the dinner table by passing the gravy boat,” says Gravox Head of Marketing Andrea Payne
“This initiative brings new meaning to this ritual, with both the gravy and the gravy boat helping support those in need this Christmas. We hope those who are able can place a good bid and secure one of these bespoke one-off pieces – knowing the funds are going to those who need it.”
