Lakanto satisfies the sweet tooth

It’s the age-old dilemma – having a sweet tooth but also wanting to make healthier decisions, when it comes to a coffee, baking or eating in general.

Lakanto luckily, continues to launch #ResponsiblySweet options for shoppers to incorporate into their everyday lives.

Below is a list of Lakanto products, and what they can be a replacement for:

  • Swap caster sugar, coconut sugar, raw sugar, palm sugar for Lakanto Baking Blend.
  • Swap brown sugar for Lakanto Golden Monkfruit Sweetener.
  • Swap white sugar for Lakanto Classic Monkfruit Sweetener.
  • Swap icing sugar for Lakanto Icing Powder.
  • Swap maple syrup/honey/rice malt syrup for Lakanto Maple Flavoured Syrup.

When discussing the Monkfruit Sweeteners, TV Host, bestselling cookbook author, functional nutritionist and trainer Luke Hines says, “Monkfruit has changed the way I eat for the better, as I still get to enjoy my favourite foods, but in a way that makes them Low-Carb, Keto, so I don’t have to compromise on my health goals.”

What is Monk fruit?

Monk fruit derives its sweetness from antioxidants in the fruit’s (melon-like) flesh. The new sweetener has 93% fewer calories than sugar, zero net carbs, zero glycemic impact and no fibre, maltodextrin, stevia, artificial sweeteners or flavourings.

This makes it suitable for those on gluten-free, diabetic, ketogenic, candida, paleo, vegan and low-carb diets.

Speaking of those on a diabetic diet…

Lakanto is sponsoring the Starlight Children’s Foundation, Sugar Free Me!

The initiative is to quit sugar for 30 days and raise funds for sick children. The challenge is live from 1-30 November, coinciding with World Diabetes Day on 14 November.
