Large Format Retail Association joins Good360

Good360 Australia and the Large Format Retail Association (LFRA) have announced a new partnership.

The LFRA has joined Good360 as a supporting partner alongside other organisations including the Australian Retailers Association, Australasian Promotional Product Association and Green Friday. The collaboration aims to extend the reach of Good360’s work and message. In particular, it will address the large format retail sector’s role and leadership in advancing more sustainable practices and supporting more retailers in joining Good360.

Since 2015, Good360 has connected over 42.4 million donated goods to people in need, preventing more than 7300 tonnes of waste. Working with a network of over 600 retail and business partners, it distributes unsold goods through more than 4500 charities and disadvantaged schools across the nation.

Good360 Australia founder and Managing Director Alison Covington AM says her organisation is thrilled to partner with the LFRA.

“We are excited about the potential of this partnership to make a real difference,” she says.

“By working together, we can help build a more efficient and sustainable retail sector, promote the shift to a more circular economy, and help maximise positive impact in our communities.

“Research shows that each year in Australia more than $2.5 billion worth of unsold household goods are wasted. Circular models can reduce waste and lower costs, while benefiting people and our planet.

“Retailers, especially in the large format retail sector, have a real opportunity to embrace this change and enhance their ESG impact, and it makes financial sense to do so. We look forward to working closely with the LFRA and its members.”

LFRA CEO Philippa Kelly says the organisation is delighted to join Good360 as a supporting partner.

“Through this partnership, we can raise awareness of these issues, as well as the opportunities and benefits for retailers in donating excess stock,” she says.

“LFRA members will gain access to Good360’s comprehensive systems and networks, simplifying the process of donating surplus goods and amplifying their social and environmental impact. Together, we can drive meaningful change and help set the standard for excess inventory management.”
