Leggo’s is partnering with the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival (MFWF) for the first time this year to champion locally grown produce and on-the-rise culinary talent.
As part of the partnership, Leggo’s and MFWF will be “bringing to life” a special one-day event – Something Saucy – with Super Norma.
The Something Saucy event will be reminiscent of Super Norma’s playful pasta bar in Carlton, founded by childhood friends Marco Salzano and Luca Muscato. At the festival, they will be cooking with 100% Australian-grown Leggo’s Gourmet Passata.
On 25 March between 11am and 2pm, Melbourne’s Whitehart Bar will be transformed into a pop-up pasta shop, where visitors can indulge in a Super Norma staple, Pasta Alla Norma, dished up by Mr Salzano and Mr Muscato themselves. As an official partner of MFWF, Leggo’s says it’s giving Melburnians a unique opportunity to taste restaurant-quality Italian food for free.
“The MFWF has cemented its place on any foodie’s calendar and the focus on showcasing local produce and the best of the state’s culinary delights aligns perfectly with Leggo’s,” says Leggo’s APAC Senior Director of Marketing Katie Saunders.
“We’re proud to grow all of our tomatoes in Australia, particularly supporting the regional community around Echuca, and know that our Leggo’s Gourmet Passata is restaurant-quality and full of flavour.
“We’re always looking for new ways to showcase how we do Italian at Leggo’s and partnering with Super Norma who bring real Italian heritage to the table, but with a modern twist, is exactly the right step for us.”
In addition to the free pasta dishes, Leggo’s will be giving away jars of its Gourmet Passata at the event, allowing attendees to take home the “secret ingredient” behind the dish.
