Known for embracing classic flavours, ice-cream sandwich brand Maxibon is pulling out the apron and launching two new bons, fresh from the freezer, in their first-ever bakery-inspired range.
Maxibon Vanilla Slice features a custard slab sandwiched between two golden Maxibon biccies on one end and dipped in icing with flaky wafers on the other
Maxibon Hedgehog Slice features a rich choc flavoured slab packed with salty cookie crumbs, sandwiched between two golden Maxibon biccies on one end, dipped in milk choc and loaded with more crunchy cookie crumbs on the other.
“We’re a nation of snackers, and nothing hits quite like childhood favourites,” says Peters Ice Cream Head of Marketing, Andrea Hamori.
“As a brand that’s been shaking up Aussie snack time for over 20 years, Maxibon wanted to take nostalgia and turn it on its head. We’ve reimagined iconic, beloved baked goods by bringing them to life with Australia’s favourite ice cream sandwich brand – Maxibon – because doing the unexpected is what we do best.”
World-first freezer bakery
To support the launch, Maxibon is opening the doors to the world’s first Maxi-Bakery, where 10,000 lucky people will be some of the first to taste these bons before the rest of the country.
Samples will be available at June’s Shoppe in Sydney’s CBD on 24 February (3pm-6pm), 25 February (11am-6pm) and 26 February (11am-2pm) – or while stocks lasts.
“Our most fond food memories are tied to experiences. So, to launch Vanilla Slice and Hedgehog Slice we wanted to create the ultimate multi-sensory adventure,” says Ms Hamori.
“At our Maxi-Bakery, 10,000 bons will be given away, but first, you’ll have to track down the freezer and discover the surprise waiting inside.”
Maxibon Vanilla Slice & Maxibon Hedgehog Slice 4-packs hit shelves in Coles, Woolworths, and independent grocery stores (RRP $11.50), and Maxibon Vanilla Slice single packs in petrol and convenience stores (RRP $5.60) from 17 February.
