Morrisons expands Deliveroo partnership

UK retailer Morrisons is expanding its partnership with Deliveroo so that customers can order groceries from 500 of its Morrisons Daily convenience stores.

Customers will be able to order from 2500 fresh, frozen and ambient items and have them delivered to their doorstep in under 30 minutes.

According to the retailer, convenience remains an important and strongly growing channel for Morrisons and its Morrisons Daily convenience stores. The Morrisons Daily offer includes a core convenience range, fresh food to go and selected elements of Morrisons’ Market Street fresh food.

Morrisons has been working with Deliveroo since the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in April 2020 and the service is already available in around 390 supermarkets. In September 2021, Deliveroo also launched its first delivery-only grocery store ‘Deliveroo Hop’ in partnership with Morrisons.

“Our partnership with Deliveroo has gone from strength to strength since we first started working together in 2020,” says Morrisons Convenience Online & Wholesale Director Joseph Sutton.

“Customers tell us how important rapid delivery services are to them and so we’re delighted to be extending the Deliveroo service and making it available from 500 of our Morrisons Daily stores.”

Morrisons has around 1600 Morrisons Daily convenience stores across the UK of which around 600 are franchise stores.
