bibigo has introduced two new dumpling varieties to its range, Steamed Mandu Pork Dumplings and Steamed Pork and Kimchi Flavoured Mandu Dumplings.
According to bibigo’s parent company, CJ Foods, the global rise of K-pop, Korean dramas, and the cultural wave known as Hallyu has seen an increasing demand for Korean cuisine in Australia.
“The continued rise of K-culture in Australia has created a wonderful platform for us to introduce our products to more Australians. We aim to make quality Korean food accessible, convenient, and a household staple,” says CJ Foods Oceania Managing Director Eugene Cha.
The new dumplings have launched at IGA, along with a number of the brand’s other products.
“Six bibigo products have just launched into IGA, and this is the first time bibigo Steamed Mandu Pork Dumplings, and bibigo Steamed Pork and Kimchi Flavoured Mandu Dumplings will be available in an Australian supermarket,” says Mr Cha. “It’s exciting to bring these cultural experiences and authentic offerings to local consumers.”
Promoted as being perfect for busy lifestyles and food lovers alike, bibigo Steamed Mandu Dumplings bring the “authentic taste of Korean flavours straight to your plate”. Ready in “minutes”, the dumplings are made with “carefully selected” fresh ingredients, including premium Australian pork, and a “delicate” steaming process that is said to lock in their “juicy, flavourful goodness”.
The Steamed Pork Dumplings (RRP $8.50) are described as being a “delicious” combination of tender pork, fresh vegetables, and “aromatic” seasonings wrapped in a delicate, thin dumpling skin. On the other hand, the Steamed Pork and Kimchi Flavoured Dumplings (RRP $8.50) bring an “irresistible balance” of savoury pork and the “bold, slightly spicy kick” of fermented kimchi.
