Central Queensland Highland is expanding its business with the opening of a boutique fresh food supermarket, Fair Dinkum Fresh.
The new food supermarket will be located in the Sentinel Property Group-owned, The Village @ Emerald regional shopping centre.
The true blue Aussie supermarket, will offer meat, fruit and vegetables and selected grocery items, such as smallgoods – with a gourmet café being planned as well.
Award-winning butcher Jason O’Loughlin has been in the business for more than 30 years, and opened his first butcher shop with wife Tracey in Springsure, south of Emerald in 2013.
“We are proud to launch a new regional supermarket with an emphasis on doing business the old-fashioned way with excellent service, and providing high quality meats and accompaniments, while supporting local employment and communities,” says Mr O’Loughlin.
“It is my hope that this store will also provide an opportunity to create a whole new vegetable growing industry to our local area. Plans are already afoot to establish a co-op to supply our business and wholesale to other smaller retailers and businesses in the Central Queensland area.”
Sentinel Property Group Executive Chairman, Warren Ebert notes: “Sentinel is delighted with what Jason and Tracey have delivered to The Plaza with Fair Dinkum Meats and we are very excited by what Fair Dinkum Fresh will bring to The Village.”
